Principal Investigator

Ankur Jain

Dr. Ankur Jain directs the microscale thermophysics laboratory at UT Arlington. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award (2016), Lockheed Martin Excellence in Teaching Award (2018) and UTA College of Engineering Outstanding Early Career Award (2017). His research interests include microscale thermal transport, electrochemical energy conversion and bioheat transfer. His research has received funding support from NSF, ONR, DoE and other non-federal sources. He received his Ph.D. (2007) and M.S. (2003) from Stanford University, and B.S. (2001) with highest honors from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.

Visiting Scholar

Dr. Long Zhou

Dr. Long Zhou is a visiting scholar from Henan Polytechnic University, China. He received his Ph.D (2011) from Dalian University of Technology, China. His research interests include heat transfer, lubrication and friction in internal combustion engines, theoretical heat transfer and thermal management of Li-ion batteries.

Amirhossein Mostafavi

PhD Student

Amirhossein received his M.S. and B.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, respectively. His research interests are Li-ion batteries, phase change materials and nanofluids.

Mohammad Parhizi

PhD Student

Mohammad received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Guilan University, Iran. He completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at UT Arlington. He is currently a Ph.D. student and his research interests include heat transfer, safety issues and thermal property measurement of Li-ion batteries.

Swapnil Salvi

PhD Student

Swapnil received his B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mumbai, India in 2016 and M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar, India in 2018. His research interests include thermal measurements and thermal management techniques for Li-Ion cells.

Dhananjay Mishra

Ph.D. Student

Dhananjay completed his B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in India. His research interests include thermal management techniques in Li-ion batteries.

Vishnu Ganesan

MS Student

Vishnu is a MS student in the lab. He received his B.E. degree from Anna University, India. In his Master’s degree research, he works on simulation modeling of large Li-ion battery packs.
